  • description

A striking, one of a kind, hand embroidered silk stole .This exquisite stole has been hand embroidered by the women of the Meghwad Maaru community in the Kutch region of Gujarat. Soof is a delicate and fine embroidery. The design is mentally conceptualised by counting of threads of fabric, therefore the craftswoman is a designer as well as the artisan. Kutch Craft Collective is a collaborative platform of five organizations from Kutch and was formed to revive the old crafts of Kutch, while creating livelihood opportunities for the artisan families. Amongst the five organizations of KCC, Kala Raksha Trust is a social enterprise, dedicated to the preservation of traditional arts. Comprising artisans, community members, and experts in the fields of art, design and museums, Kala Raksha was founded on artisan initiative in 1993.
Peepul Tree is proud to join hands with KCC in presenting Kutch 's most authentic art and craft forms.
