With it's eye catching hand embroidery, and tassles along the edges, this table runner adds an elegant and unique touch to your table setting.This one of a kind runner has been hand embroidered using the Rabari embroidery style. This style of embroidery is practised by the nomadic Rabari Community of the Kutch region of Gujarat. The embroidery is bold, big and vigorous. It uses the saankdi sticth to render colourful motifs of birds and animals and use a lot of medium to large mirrors. Kutch Craft Collective is a collaborative platform of five organizations from Kutch and was formed to revive the old crafts of Kutch, while creating livelihood opportunities for the artisan families. Amongst the five organizations of KCC, Kala Raksha Trust is a social enterprise, dedicated to the preservation of traditional arts. Comprising artisans, community members, and experts in the fields of art, design and museums, Kala Raksha was founded on artisan initiative in 1993.
