Resplendant with timeless charm ,this strikingly beautiful embroidered wall hanging is sure to take centre stage in your home. This one of a kind dupion silk panel has been hand embroidered in the Pakko embroidery style,by the women of the Sodha and Jadeja communities from the Kutch region of Gujarat. The style uses the wide ‘pakko ni aankh’ stitch which is then highlighted with the ‘khann’ stitch or mirrors. The stitches are so sturdy that it is said that the cloth might wear away but the embroidery will remain. Kutch Craft Collective is a collaborative platform of five organizations from Kutch and was formed to revive the old crafts of Kutch, while creating livelihood opportunities for the artisan families. Amongst the five organizations of KCC, Shrujan is a not-for-profit organization working with craftswomen in Kutch to revitalize the ancient craft of hand embroidery.Through their endeavour, Shrujan has enabled craftswomen to secure a better future for themselves and their families in Kutch.
Peepul Tree is proud to join hands with KCC in presenting Kutch 's most authentic art and craft forms.
