Coffee Brown Hand-Embroidered Kashmir Cotton-Silk Shawl/Dupatta
This exquisite dupatta or shawl in a coffee brown colour is a true work of art, specially brought to you by the talented women of the Kashmir valley. Each piece is meticulously hand-embroidered over several months using the traditional Paper Mache technique unique to Kashmir.
While this technique is typically employed on fine wool pashmina, we have crafted these dupattas from a cotton-silk blend fabric for you to enjoy and cherish this Kashmiri art all year round. The color palette and motifs are inspired by the stunning flowers of the region, often described as a paradise on Earth.
The creation of this piece is a labor-intensive process. Initially, hand-carved block prints are used to outline the design. Subsequently, skilled embroiderers meticulously fill these designs with various thread colors. Paper Mache embroidery involves breath-taking motifs worked with satin threads, resulting in a palette that is soft and dreamy, much like the Kashmir valley itself.
Note: Please note that the product's actual colors may slightly differ from what you see in the images due to variations in computer screen resolutions, displays, and photography.
