  • description

Painted by National award winning Pattachitra artist Niranjan Moharana, this pattachitra beautifully depicts Lord Vishnu’s Dashavatara, or his ten incarnations on the four sides. These surround a central image of a scene from the Raasleela, where Lord Krishna is with Radha in the centre. Here, Lord Krishna is shown playing his flute, while Radha dances to the music. The beauty of the painting is enhanced by the colourful floral motifs that adorn its borders.

Literally meaning Cloth Painting, Pattachitra is an artform from Puri in Odisha in which images of deities are painted on a piece of cloth.
