Hand-painted by National Award-winning Pattachitra artist Niranjan Moharana, this Pattachitra is a representation of the ‘sacred tree’ or the ‘tree of life’ in the centre, that serves as a reminder of our universal connection to Mother Earth and our dependence on nature in order to grow and flourish. At the foot of the Tree, a deer and a bird are depicted. The central image is surrounded by depictions of nature or ‘Nisarga’.

Literally meaning Cloth Painting, Pattachitra is an art form from Puri in Odisha in which images of deities are painted on a piece of cloth or palm leaves. This piece is made by a National Award-winning artist Niranjan Moharana.
