The embroidery you see on this cushion cover has been done by a community of women living in the desert of Kutch in western India.
For the nomadic communities living in this region, embroidery holds great cultural significance. each community has its own unique style of intricate craftsmanship. There are as many as 22 unique embroidery styles practised in Kutch.
This embroidered Cushion Cover has been done in the Paako embroidery style which has tight chain stitches and is known for its sturdiness and durability.
It reflects the craftsmanship of the women who make it. To ensure that this unique design gets the recognition it deserves, we have directly sourced this piece from local artisans
