Travel to Bhimbetka: India’s Oldest Art Gallery

It is known as India's oldest art gallery. The earliest humans in India not only lived here but also left snippets of their lives in the spectacular prehistoric art in Bhimbetka near Bhopal.

In Bhimbetka and the surrounding hills, over 1000 rock shelters have been found. Almost half of these have some form of art ranging from mythical animals to scenes of war - representing a wide period of time from prehistoric times to even the early medieval era.
