Tangaliya Weave from Gujarat: A Special Craft Trail

The 700-year old weaving craft of Tangaliya is native to a small community of weavers belonging to the Surendranagar district of Gujarat. They create handwoven fabrics with iconic bead-like designs handcrafted skillfully using the Tangaliya work on a traditional pit loom. These colourful bead designs are known as daana work and the motifs used are inspired by nature.

At our History Shop, Peepul Tree, we bring you a gorgeous collection of Tangaliya weaves from Gujarat. Catch this special Craft Trail and shop for these beautiful weaves at Peepul Tree.
