Lost Lucknow

In this LHI Circle exclusive, author and historian Dr Rosie Llewellyn-Jones, who has done seminal work on Lucknow and Awadh, leads a tour of buildings and monuments that were either destroyed or irrevocably ruined in the aftermath of the Revolt of 1857, and the decades of neglect after. Through rare images – photographs and etchings – Dr Llewellyn-Jones allows us a rare look into Lucknow’s Nawabi and colonial past and the opulence it once reflected. In the 18th CE, this was a city comparable to the grand capitals of Europe. Here is the film on Lost Lucknow.
