The Sanganeri print is a traditional style of printing on textiles that originated in the small town of Sanganer, on the outskirts of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. Known for its delicate patterns and lines, the vibrant coloured designs used here are inspired by Mughal paintings and the art work in the palaces of Jaipur. While the printing technique itself goes back hundreds of years, Sanganer emerged as a great hand printing centre in the 17th century , thanks to Royal patronage.
